Daft Punk is an electronic music duo that has been active since 1993. The duo that makes up Daft Punk is Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, both of who are musicians from France. Their genre of music is house, and they are signed to Virgin records.

Because they have been active since 1993, Daft Punk has released a lot of material over the last sixteen years. The three major studio albums they have released are Homework (1997), Discovery (2001) and Human After All (2005). Other albums (which are either live, remix or compilation albums) include Alive 1997 (2001), Daft Club (2003), Human After All: Remixes (2006), Musique Vol. 1 1993-2005 (2006) and Alive 2007 (2007). In addition to their album releases, the duo has also released several video projects, including D.A.F.T.: A Story About Dogs, Androids, Firemen and Tomatoes (1999), Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem (2003) and Daft Punk’s Electroma (2006).

While Daft Punk’s music is popular all over the world, one interesting thing about the two members of the duo is that they have managed to keep their identities fairly concealed. In addition to only granting interviews on a scarce basis, Daft Punk have masked their identities through methods such as literally wearing masks or having their faces blurred from their videos. In addition to allowing them to have more of a normal personal life, this mystique has also helped to boost their popularity.

Since 1998, Daft Punk has received seven Grammy nominations. They have been nominated for four best dancing recording Grammys, two best electronic/dance album Grammys and one best pop instrumental performance Grammy. Although they were nominated in 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2006, it wasn’t until 2009 when they won their first two Grammy awards.
